In the sawmill industry, the trimming and edging of all boards is accomplished at high speeds using the DPS-824S1 scanner. High-speed geometric scanning allows for optimized cutting decisions that increase product recovery and board value.
DPS-824S1 can scan up to 3,000 scans per second generating more than 300,000 X, Y data points per second. Typical configurations consist of 16 to 24 scan heads configured in top and bottom arrays. The scanner arrays are oriented at 45-degree angle to capture all four surfaces of the boards. Combined with a system integrator’s optimization software, this solution delivers complete process control that increases production and quality.
