Predictive maintenance

Predictive maintenance uses historical data and analysis tools to forecast when a piece of equipment or a system may fail. Maintenance is then scheduled before a failure of equipment or system happens.

Preventive maintenance, on the other hand, is to perform maintenance regularly to avoid system failures. Predictive maintenance takes on a more proactive approach than preventative maintenance.
